Use the Text (Advanced) option in the Find or Replace dialog box to search for specific text strings that are either within or not within a set of container tags. For example, you can search for the word Untitled between <title>
tags to find all the untitled pages on your site. See Searching and replacing for information about the various types of searches.
To perform an advanced text search:
1 | Choose Edit > Find or Edit > Replace, and specify which files to search, as detailed in Searching and replacing. |
2 | Choose Text (Advanced) from the Find What pop-up menu. |
3 | Enter the text you want to search for in the text field adjacent to the Find What pop-up menu. |
For example, type the word Untitled. | |
4 | Choose Inside Tag or Not Inside Tag, and then choose a tag from the adjacent pop-up menu. |
For example, choose Inside Tag and then title . |

5 | Click the plus (+) button to limit the search to tags with a specific attribute or attributes. |
Since the <title> tag has no attributes, you won't need to use this option to find all the untitled pages on your site. |

6 | Click Find Next to open the next document that contains the search text, or click Find All to generate a list of documents that contain this text. |
